Ed Ruscha Jeu de Paume Paris January 31 to April 30
The work of Ed Ruscha is increasingly, and perhaps fittingly, being sandwiched between book covers. There are now catalogues raisonnes of his paintings, prints and books, plus a collection of interviews, writings and articles about him, and now two books on his photographs. The trigger for the last two was the acquisition by gift and purchase of over 400 of his photographs by the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York. The Whitney celebrated this acquisition with an exhibition and book Edward Ruscha and Photography in 2004. The title of the exhibition at the Jeu de Paume is slightly different, 'Ed Ruscha ...
