MIAMI _ While the men talked trade, the first ladies of the Americas agreed during their own summit Saturday to dip into their husbands' pockets for more money to improve the lives of the hemisphere's 130 million children.
``When it comes to children's issues, women have a special calling,'' first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton said. ``And that's why we have a duty to raise our voices for the voiceless _ our children, the youngest and the most vulnerable among us.''
Twenty-one first ladies and two stand-ins _ the Peruvian first daughter and the wife of a Brazilian diplomat _ met in the opulent ballroom of the Biltmore Hotel around a huge table skirted in Christmas green.
