Earlier this month, Secretary of State Warren Christopher landed in Morocco and hastened to the regional economic conference, where for the first time both Israeli and Arab delegations were in attendance. On his arrival, Christopher ceremoniously declared, "Casablanca will be remembered as the economic equivalent to Madrid -- where the political peace process began."
It remains questionable whether the agreements made in the whitewashed Mediterranean city will be adhered to in the spirit of mutual interest which characterizes the recent Israeli and Jordanian peace, or whether they will lapse into a more antagonistic tone, like that of the Israeli-Syrian ...
