Feb. 27--HAMPTON -- The National Institute of Aerospace in Hampton has signed an agreement to conduct aeronautics research for Airbus, the European airplane manufacturer. The contract was hailed as a coup for the 3-year-old institute, striving to build a reputation in aerospace technology research. Neither the institute nor Airbus could specify how much Airbus will pay for the research. The institute says the research will be done under a six-year agreement and will be fully funded by Airbus.
