Feb. 27--About 100 schools in the Cherokee Nation's 14-county jurisdiction in northeastern Oklahoma will receive more than $2.6 million from revenues generated by the tribe's car-tag sales in 2006.
The tribe scheduled a press conference to announce the donation at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Tulsa Public Schools Education Service Center, 3027 S. New Haven Ave.
Cherokee Chief Chad Smith, tribal officials and school officials are scheduled to attend the announcement.
