This paper examines the unique situation of Vietnamese-American adolescents and proposes a conceptual model for the study of psychological distress in this population. In support of the proposed model, this paper includes a brief analysis of the mainstream conceptual frameworks used to study psychological distress. An integrative model anchored within the ecological framework is then presented.
