Mar. 1--PLYMOUTH -- When she was a freshman, Greater Nanticoke Area basketball star Aly Byorick decided to wear No. 15 because that was the number worn by Paul Guffrovich--the school's all-time scoring leader.
One of her goals since then was to emulate him. She's done an excellent job during her magnificent career, and now she's closing in on Guffrovich's record of 2,259 points.
Byorick poured in a career-high 37 points on Wednesday night as the unbeaten Trojanettes romped to an impressive 74-34 victory over Honesdale in District 2 Class 3A semifinal action at Wyoming Valley West High School.
