The trial pitting the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati against three hospitals seeking to withdraw from the system began last week with the two sides lashing out.
An attorney for the Alliance called last year's decision by 470-bed Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, and the two Kentucky-based St. Luke hospitals, as "dropping the equivalent of a nuclear bomb'' that would destroy the system, harm all of its hospitals and endanger the healthcare of patients and communities the Alliance hospitals serve.
Attorneys for the hospitals hoping to secede described a dysfunctional family that favored some siblings over others. They ...
