Mar. 4--Outdated or broken electronics are something like zombies. They're dead, but they can still do harm. OK, mabye zombies are a stretch. But it's true that a dead cell phone, computer or battery still has plenty of life left in it, and that life -- or half-life -- can be harmful to the environment. Weld County's household hazardous waste program recently started accepting cell phones and laptop batteries, realizing the growing need for a final resting place for our old electronics.
