Transformation. It blows in and out of South African rugby like a Cape south-easter.
Rugby in this country stands condemned as the sport with the worst record in this sensitive, emotional field. The recent verbal battering delivered to SA Rugby President Oregan Hoskins by government officials and MPs is backed by the statistics. Rugby doesn't seem to have its heart in proper, meaningful transformation.
Perhaps half the trouble is that few who stride so eagerly into this debate are qualified in every sense to comment. Black politicians and rugby officials, white coaches and white players plus writers from myriad backgrounds all have their own ...
