Mar. 5--First-Centenary United Methodist Church began work last week on a $6.6 million building and renovation project that may be the largest ever for a downtown Chattanooga church. The work will include a 16,000-square-foot contemporary worship center and fellowship hall, a pedestrian bridge across Oak Street connecting the new building with the current facility and renovation of several parts of the current structure.
