Legend has it that Marie Antoinette was a bubbly blond until the eve of her execution. It was only upon learning of her dire fate, the story goes, that her hair turned dusty gray--and it did so literally overnight. It may sound far-fetched, but Caroline Greyl, the CEO of hair-care company Leonor Greyl, has no trouble believing the tale. "When there's a catastrophe," says Greyl, 39, who has spent the past 16 years developing the line founded by her parents, Leonor and Jean-Marie, "horrible things happen to your hair."
