Asian international students comprise more than 10% of enrollments at predominantly White institutions of higher education (PW-IHE) in the U.S. and are primarily enrolled at research IHE (Institute for International Education, 1999). They face cross cultural problems while studying at PW-IHE and communication difficulties often due to a lack of English proficiency. International students often face financial issues while attending graduate school at PW-IHE. This is compounded because they are not eligible for support from U.S. federal funding programs.
