How goes my search for the ideal fund? As I have mentioned in previous articles, this needs to combine two things; a diversified asset allocation and relatively low fees.
The first fund to meet my criteria was the Pimco All-Assets fund, run by Rob Arnott, editor of the Financial Analysts' Journal. This has a wonderfully diversified asset mix, albeit with the potential flaw that it only invested in Pimco funds. And, sadly for the UK investor, it was a US-based fund.
