US. airlines are expanding their horizons to Latin America. They'll continue to fly tourists across the region. But what they really want is to fly Latin American immigrants in the United States back and forth to their home countries.

Because of that huge, built-in customer base, the future looks bright. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, in 2050 the number of U.S. citizens of Latin American origin will hit 102 million, 24% of the population.

With an eye on this burgeoning travel market, U.S. carrier Delta is adding Latin American routes to its itinerary, mainly out of Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta, the carrier's chief hub since 1930. ...
