WASHINGTON _ Steve Deslich, whose passion for photography took him from Ohio to Washington, D.C., to various spots around the globe, died Tuesday of brain cancer. He was 35, one day short of his birthday.
Deslich, of Silver Spring, Md., was managing editor of the McClatchy-Tribune Photo Service, one of the nation's foremost photo operations.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; son Benjamin; mother Sheila; father Roger; two brothers and a sister.
In his MCT job, Deslich was well-known in Washington photography circles for his work at news and major sports events. He oversaw MCT's photo operations at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City (2002) ...
