Mar. 7--Imagine my surprise to learn that sweet-and-sour sauce doesn't just come in those teeny plastic takeout containers. Quite frankly, it just never occurred to me to prepare the sauce at home. Subconsciously, we often categorize food. And to me, the distinctive red sauce shows up along with the flimsy chopsticks and fortune cookies when we grab takeout. But Mary Ann Enault wants to make her own sweet-and-sour sauce to accompany appetizers at an upcoming party, and several of you had the answer.
