Mar. 7--WASHINGTON -- Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown came to the Capitol on Tuesday with a revised federal agenda capped by a $5.6 million request for funding to help clean up the contaminated Hickory Woods neighborhood in South Buffalo.
Brown said that funding would be part of the $15 million it would eventually cost to clean up the site and settle all the court cases stemming from it.
That $5.6 million in requested federal funding would be used to replace the contaminated soil at the 47 homes on the site.
