Mar. 7--SHAWNEE -- Oklahoma Baptist University says it won't allow a group of gay and lesbian activists on campus next week. Activists plan to be at OBU on March 14 and 15 as part of the second Equality Ride bus tour. In 2006, the group was allowed in the university's student center to talk to students individually about OBU's policies forbidding homosexual activity by students. This year, they'll be asked to stay off campus -- or risk being arrested, OBU spokesman Marty O'Gwynn said. O'Gwynn said university officials don't understand why the group would return to OBU, especially when last year's exchange was peaceful. But ...
