Mar. 7--When Laura Eisenbaum first entered Stephens College as a freshman, she felt nervous whenever she had to speak in public. And leading her peers was certainly not on her agenda. All that changed when Eisenbaum heard her college president speak. "It flowed so effortlessly from her, and I wanted to be able to speak like that in front of people," Eisenbaum said. Four years later, Eisenbaum, who is in her senior year, is the student government president at Stephens College. At yesterday's 2007 Athena Award presentation and keynote luncheon, she paid a tribute to the person she calls her "adopted mum." "I am the woman I am today ...
