Mar. 8--FORT WORTH -- A.J. Foyt doesn't want to offend Tony Stewart by saying he sees a lot of himself in the 35-year-old NASCAR star.
"I hate to think I saw myself in anybody," Foyt said Wednesday during Texas Motor Speedway's annual media day. "I wouldn't want to handicap them that bad."
But the legendary Texas racecar driver admits Stewart's background and demeanor bare a striking resemblance to his own as he made his way in racing. Not to mention their rare combinations of success in stock car and open-wheel racing.
