The long-awaited Kampala Stock Exchange - Uganda's first national stock exchange - is to be officially inaugurated before the 1994/95 budget is unveiled, in June.

Minister of Finance & Economic Planning Joash Mayanja Nkangi made the announcement in April at a one-day meeting with investors licensed by the government-sponsored Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) in Kampala.

"Arrangements should be made to launch the stock exchange officially in May or June, before this year's budget speech," the Minister confirmed.
