Mar. 8--Wilmer Hernandez-Ulloa told police that his housemate attacked him with a kitchen knife, and he grabbed a box cutter to defend himself. He said he cut Hildebrando "Orlando" Sanchez Diaz in the neck in self-defense.
When Roanoke police Detective D.A. Jones asked Hernandez-Ulloa if he knew how badly he'd cut Diaz, he looked down and said "No," Jones testified.
But evidence police say they found at the bloody crime scene didn't match Hernandez-Ulloa's story.
After hearing that evidence Wednesday, a judge certified a murder charge against Hernandez-Ulloa to a grand jury.
