Mar. 9--Delta Air Lines could be flying its first nonstop route to Europe from Salt Lake City International Airport by next year if the carrier's analysis shows the new service will attract enough passengers to make money.
Delta will also announce more U.S. destinations from its fast-growing Salt Lake hub, including another Western city next week. And the airline will increase the number of 76-seat regional jets, while drawing down 50-seat aircraft without first-class cabins, Chief Operating Officer Jim Whitehurst said in an interview with The Salt Lake Tribune.
