Mar. 9--SAN BENITO -- The mirror ball's wild glitter flashes in their eyes as Gilbert and Bonnie Persinger whirl across the hardwood dance floor.
"I just jump up and down and slide sideways once in a while and she follows me," said Persinger, 83, a retired construction worker.
More than 55 years ago, their hearts fluttered in a barroom in Hornick, Iowa, said Persinger, as his bolo tie draped the collar of his cowboy shirt.
"I met her near the dance floor and we've been dancing ever since," he said as couples twirled to old country songs at the Elks Lodge here.
