In November 1994, The Thomson Corporation (TTC) reached an agreement with the Ziff family to acquire Information Access Company (IAC) for $465 million. This followed the sale of the Ziff-Davis Publishing Company a week earlier to Forstmann Little & Company, an investment concern, for $1.4 billion. The Thomson Corporation's principal businesses are in specialized information and publishing, newspaper publishing and leisure travel. Included in TTC's Information/Publishing Group are 200 online services and over 190 CD-ROM products. According to TTC President W.
