Mar. 11--Owensboro residents are also residents of Daviess County, which means city dwellers pay property taxes to finance the operations of Daviess Fiscal Court. In fiscal year 2006-07, city residents will pay $2.2 million in real estate taxes to Fiscal Court, county Treasurer Tony Sook said last week. That's not quite half of the $4.6 million the county will collect in property taxes for the fiscal year.
