Although usually associated with men, hair loss is an occurrence that respects no gender or age. it also is one whose causes can be varied and are often not well understood.
Men, for instance, have a 50% chance of experiencing male pattern baldness by their 50th birthday. At the same time hair loss or thinning hair affects up to 30 million women in this country, usually around the age of menopause.
