Foradil Certihaler (formoterol fumarate inhalation powder, Novartis Pharmaceuticals)
The Food and Drug Administration approved the Foradil Certihaler (formoterol fumarate inhalation powder) for long-term maintenance treatment of asthma and for the prevention of bronchospasm in adults and children 5 years and older with reversible obstructive airway disease.
* Recommended Dosage: For patients 5 years and older, the usual dosage for maintenance treatment of asthma is one 10-mcg inhalation every 12 hours. Total daily dose should not exceed one inhalation twice daily (a 20-mcg total daily dose).
