Article: AFA OBJECTS TO AIRLINE'S REQUEST FOR A STAY OF FLIGHT ATTENDANT DUTY TIME RULE

WASHINGTON, Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The Association of Flight Attendants (AFA), AFL-CIO, strongly opposes the petition by Sun Country Airlines, Inc. asking the Federal Aviation Administration to stay the compliance date for the flight attendant duty time rule. Sun Country Airlines filed a petition for a stay of the rule on December 16, 1994, which the FAA published as a petition for an exemption in the January 13, 1995 Federal Register. The long-awaited rule regulating flight attendants' duty and rest periods is scheduled to go into effect on March 1, 1995.
