Back when I was in school, sometime around the invention of the wheel, teachers made a big thing out of inventors and their inventions.
Except for Edison and a few others, I've long since forgotten most of them. They've become a kind of blur in my memory over the years. Did Eli Whitney invent the spinning jenny or the cotton gin? What is a spinning jenny anyway? And when did they decide to replace the cotton in gin with vermouth? See what I mean?
