Fifty years ago, "Code Name: The Cleaner" would have been a vehicle for Bob Hope or Jerry Lewis. It probably also would have had a lot more laughs. In building a comedy-thriller around Cedric the Entertainer, the filmmakers are so busy churning their not very interesting plot that they forget to let Cedric be funny.
