SHREWSBURY - The town hopes to use the state's affordable housing law to its advantage by creating a competitive bid process among potential developers, which would give the town control over some aspects of a project, including its location.
Selectmen voted unanimously last night to authorize Town Manager Daniel J. Morgado and other town officials to pursue a residential developer to build an affordable home development in town that would qualify under the state's so-called Chapter 40B "anti-snob" zoning law.
