Portugal. The Man's debut album "Waiter: `You Vultures!'" is, in general, a magical missive from one adventurous band, and, in part, an audio guest list to one strange dinner party.
Portugal. The Man invited the influence of the Beatles, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, The Mars Volta and Flaming Lips into its work. There is no musical larceny going on, just smart little nods to various high-water marks along the rock and pop continuum.
