Article: Time for a trim; Sheep shearing at sanctuary.(NEWS)

When spring arrives, it's time for everyone to get out of those winter wools - and that includes our four-legged friends at Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary.

Each year the sanctuary sponsors a sheepshearing open house. You can see Rubus, Hope and Taggley getting a haircut, and you can learn how wool is made into sweaters.

Sanctuary director Joe Choiniere will shear the sheep and will explain how their grazing has created meadow habitats at Wachusett. Wool worker Donna Choiniere will demonstrate wool spinning, weaving, felting and knitting.
