BARRE - Odors from Barre Martone Sanitary Landfill continue to be a problem, the town's landfill monitor informed the Board of Health at yesterday's meeting.
"Our biggest problem is odor," landfill monitor Gary Clark said. He said the problem lessened after state intervention last year, when hydrogen sulfide gas migrated off-site.
Mr. Clark said the Department of Environmental Protection told Waste Management Inc., the facility owner, to fix the problem. Barre and Oakham residents complained, according to the DEP.
