U.S. Sen. John S. McCain 3rd, R-Ariz., announced Monday that a handful of Massachusetts Republicans will serve on his presidential state exploratory committee, including state Rep. Paul J.P. Loscocco, R-Holliston, who will serve as one of his co-chairmen.
The announcement was made in a news release a day before former Gov. Mitt Romney announced in Michigan that he is running for president. Mr. Loscocco said, however, that the Massachusetts Republicans who are backing Mr. McCain are not "anti-Mitt Romney," but they believe the Arizona senator is the best candidate.
