Mar. 12--MUMBAI, India -- For long the Maharaja has been criticised for employing too many a helping hand in his various departments.
Now, Air India has trimmed its cabin crew and done away with excess staff while maintaining international standards.
The crew strength on Air India flights has been a subject of controversy in the past as it was much above international standards for different types of aircraft.
For instance: a flight operated with a Boeing 747-400 aircraft had 19 cabin crew, though as per international and directorate general of civil aviation (DGCA) standards only 16 would have been enough.
