SAN DIEGO, Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Quantum Group Inc., the leading manufacturer of carbon monoxide sensors, reported today that the company disagrees with certain recommendations made by the Carbon Monoxide Safety and Health Assn. (COSHA), a trade association comprised of carbon monoxide detector manufacturers.
In their statement of Jan. 13, COSHA recommended that Underwriters Laboratories (UL) consider more stringent alarm parameters; i.e., requiring carbon monoxide detectors to alarm when carbon monoxide is present at levels above 35 parts per million (ppm) over 30 consecutive days. Quantum Group, as a member of COSHA, voted against this recommendation.
