Article: Democrats revive price gouging legislation.

Democrats are reviving another issue dear to them--clamping down on energy price gouging. A Democratic chairman headed a bipartisan group of 78 members to introduce legislation Wednesday in the House of Representatives outlining punitive actions against those inflating gasoline, crude oil, and other energy prices.

With the price gouging bill, Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Chairman Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) will likely take on the Bush administration, which at best has been tepid to such legislation in the past.

"Gas prices have skyrocketed the last few weeks and this summer prices may once again exceed $3 a gallon," Stupak said.
