Camaraderie was put on hold for the finals of the Bavaria Yachts International Youth Match Racing Regatta when two CYCA teams met mid-November on Sydney Harbour. For the fourth consecutive year, the defending club managed to retain the perpetual trophy thanks to a brilliant effort over the four day regatta by the eventual winner, Evan Walker and his crew of Robert Gibbs and Jeremy Wawn. Runner-up was Will Ryan. Their local knowledge, crew work and superb handling of the Elliott 6s saw both teams dominate from the outset.
