Mar. 13--NEW LOTS FILLING IN VACANT PROPERTY: A lot's happening -- potentially 12 lots, in fact -- in Eugene's Cal Young neighborhood.

Several landowners seek to divide larger parcels into as many as three lots to accommodate denser residential development.

Five property owners in that area -- a swath of the city that lies between Delta Highway and Interstate 5, north of the Willamette River -- have partition applications pending with the city of Eugene.

They're far from alone.

Eugene city planner Lydia McKinney says the city took in 84 partition applications last year, up from 67 the year before. So ...
