With good reason, Californians tend to be fairly smug about the region in which they live and work. So do Floridians.
For starters, California has an attractive climate and a diverse economy. Sure, L.A. has some smog problems, but there are worse places to live with worse air. Silicon Valley may be having problems with its water supply, but so are many other parts of the nation. And yes, California's had some job losses, with a few companies moving out, but if you want to hear about real job losses, just ask some of the Northeastern states and you'll get an earful.
What Californians can boast of, as few other states can, is a remarkable quality of life. Good ...
