Mar. 15--The Chicago debut of the La Scala Philharmonic under conductor Riccardo Chailly, and the return of such familiar artists as pianist Murray Perahia, violinist Joshua Bell and the London Symphony Orchestra, will highlight the 2007-08 Symphony Center Presents season.
The roster of visiting conductors looks especially strong.
Chailly will lead the Scala orchestra in an all-Italian program of works by Rossini, Respighi and Nino Rota. The London Symphony will present an all-Beethoven program in celebration of the 80th birthday of Colin Davis, the orchestra's former principal conductor and now president. English pianist ...
