Mar. 15--The country has about 4,450 more places to buy a Slurpee, Slim Jim or lottery ticket than it did a couple of years ago, according to a local market researcher. New stores opening and others remodeling and extending their hours to become bona fide convenience stores helped raised their number by 3.2 percent to 145,119 last year, Wilton-based TDLinx and a national convenience store lobby group reported yesterday.
