Southlake may ban smoking in public buildings.

Mar. 15--Southlake is considering new smoking restrictions that would make it difficult to light up anywhere but at home. Proposed changes to the city's smoking ordinance would ban smoking in all restaurants as well as other public buildings. Smoking would also be prohibited in outdoor dining areas and within 12 feet of public buildings, including restaurant entrances. If passed, the ordinance would be one of the most restrictive in the state. Smoking is already prohibited in park areas where people congregate -- including bleachers and dugouts.
