Mar. 17--TULSA -- About a year ago, Jane Jayroe, Susan Powell and Shawntel Smith Wuerch welcomed Tulsan Jennifer Berry to the Miss America ranks.
Now they are celebrating another Oklahoman who has joined the Miss America sorority. Lauren Nelson, 20, of Lawton returned to her home state Wednesday for a traditional Miss America Homecoming. It is her first trip to Oklahoma since winning the Jan. 29 Miss America Pageant. Jayroe, Wuerch and Berry planned to attend the homecoming Miss America Gala and Revue on Friday in Tulsa.
