Mar. 18--The Energy Department plans to conduct a periodic review of a 1997 environmental impact statement that expanded plutonium storage at the Pantex Plant and is pondering whether to raise existing limits on outdoor high explosives tests.
BWXT Pantex Chief Counsel John Alan Jones said Pantex is required to review plant operations every five years to determine whether environmental impacts of its operations are still within the bounds of the 1997 environmental impact statement.
