Gulf Coast 6-5, Tallahassee 2-2: Commodores soar.

Mar. 21--PANAMA CITY -- Gulf Coast softball coach Susan Painter used five words to describe her feelings after her Lady Commodores opened the season with two competitive doubleheaders.

"I like where we are," she said.

Her description came after Gulf Coast swept visiting Tallahassee 6-2, 5-2 Tuesday night at Joe Tom King Field, helping the Lady Commodores improve to 30-7 overall and 3-1 in the Panhandle Conference. Gulf Coast opened the conference schedule with a split against Chipola on Saturday.

Painter said Tuesday's games revealed many strengths and weaknesses.
