Article: Croke Park debt down to modest EU37.7m.(SPORT)

THE debt on Croke Park, redeveloped at a cost of EU250m, has been cut to a modest EU37.7m, allowing the GAA's Central Council to begin recouping loans it extended to the stadium over the period of the redevelopment.

Croke Park Ltd, the company which runs the stadium, paid EU6m back to Central Council (the body responsible for running the GAA's day-to-day affairs) in 2006 and will repay a total of EU60m over the next ten years.

It leaves the financial affairs of both Croke Park Ltd and Central Council is a healthy state, although some minor worries appeared on the horizon last year.
